The municipality of Kaavi has received almost 83,000 euros in funding from the ely center for a project in which the municipality uses dark skies to develop responsible tourism.
Tourism projects in remote regions have received millions in grants for their tourism development projects. The Ely center has granted a total of 3.4 million euros for the development of nature, food, fishing and hunting tourism in sparsely populated areas.
In Pohjois-Savo, the municipality of Kaavi received the largest grant for the use of dark skies in the development of responsible tourism. The municipality received almost 83,000 euros from Ely.
The municipality of Sonkajärvi, on the other hand, was granted a limit of a generous 56,000 euros for the development of wilderness and nature tourism in Jyrkä, and the Ilkat-In company received nearly 45,000 euros for the Community and cooperation, experiences and vitality for Koivujärvi project.
