The company is investigating whether the transaction would be profitable in a growing region.

Kesko is interested in building a new grocery store in Renkomäki, Lahti. The company has booked a plot from the city from Renkomäki, near the intersection of Orimattilankatu. The reservation is valid until the end of 2025.

A maximum of 2,000 square meters of square meters may be built on the plot, but Kesko will decide whether or not the store will become the size or smaller.

If the place looks good, Kesko could also make an investment decision during this year. The new business could be ready in a couple of years at the earliest, because the plan of the plot already allows for store construction.

Etelä-Suomen Sanomat was the first to report on Kesko’s plot reservation and business plans.
