Film director David Lynch has died
The director of Twin Peaks has died at the age of 78.
– He left a big hole in the world. But as he would say it himself – keep your eye on the doughnut, not the hole, Lynch’s family writes.
Lynch’s death was reported by several national media, including The Guardian.
Lynch was known for his dark and artistic style. His films include *Blue Velvet*, *Mulholland Drive* and *The Elephant Man*, as well as the cult hit television series *Twin Peaks*.
He received a total of three Oscar nominations for his films. He received the Oscar for his life’s work in 2019. In 1990, he won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for the movie *Wild at Heart*.
Lynch was born in Missoula, Montana in 1946.
He revealed last year that he suffers from emphysema caused by a lifetime of smoking. He started smoking when he was 8 years old.
– I can barely walk across the room. It feels like walking around with a plastic bag on your head, he wrote in November.
