On Saturday, the police organized a surveillance attack on taxis in the Häme area. A total of 69 taxis were inspected, of which there were 42 cases to be noted.
In every third checked taxi, the driver’s name was not visible to the passenger. Deficiencies in driving logs were also equally common.
In addition, the supervision revealed negligence in, for example, the presentation of price information.
42 taxis were inspected in Päijät-Hämee, and the police issued 20 fines and five traffic violation charges.
In Kanta-Hämee, the investigation of 27 taxis resulted in 12 fines and four traffic violation charges and one notice
The Häme police department carried out the surveillance attack in cooperation with the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, the Tax Administration and the Regional Administrative Agency of Southern Finland.
