The premises of the Vaasa Art Hall will become the home of the Vaasa Artists’ Society. The artists’ club will lose its current premises in the Barracks area.
The city has rented premises in the barracks area to cultural actors, and now the city will give up rental activities in the barracks by the end of next year. The buildings in the area will be repurposed as daycare facilities.
The Vaasa artists’ club will move to the Vaasa art hall in the center at the beginning of 2024. The decision to rent the art hall to the Vaasa artists’ club has been made by the culture and sports committee.
Vaasa City Museums is responsible for five locations, one of which is Vaasa Art Hall. The premises of the Art Hall are currently also rented to the Photographic Society Ibis.
In October, the Culture and Sports Board outlined that cultural and library services will receive the allocation of around 90,000 euros released from the rent of the current barracks building 13, which will be allocated to the rent and operating grants of cultural operators in the free field starting in 2024.
