Lucina Hagman is celebrated throughout the summer in Kälviä

An exhibition of the books of a professor from Kälvää will open in the library. Marttakodi will have a permanent exhibition describing Hagman’s life.

Next summer, in Kälviä, you will also be able to get to know places important to Lucina Hagman in the church village, when the local community association organizes a cycling trip.

Another theme is the cultural history of Kälviä.

Hagman was a respected pedagogue, equality activist and promoter of Finnish-language education. She was the first woman to receive the title of professor in Finland.

In addition to Lucina’s Friends, Kälviä’s Martas, LC Kälviä and LC Kälviä/Lucina have worked in the background groups of the statue project for two years.
