Building a new kindergarten will be cheaper than renovating the old one. The new kindergarten is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
A new daycare center will be built to replace the Paavola daycare center in Lahti.
The group and premises division decided on the matter on Monday. There will be 10 groups in the new kindergarten. The construction costs are more than 8.5 million euros. The basic renovation of the current daycare center would have become more expensive.
Paavola’s new kindergarten is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2026.
Basic improvement planned for Launee kindergarten
The panel also decided that the Hennala and Launee daycare project will continue with the basic improvement of the current Launee daycare if no other purpose is found for the current Launee daycare building.
Launee daycare center is a protected building, so a new purpose must be found for it if the operation is to be moved to a new daycare center.
The basic improvement is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2025.
