For two years, the event has been organised remotely, bringing together eighth-graders in Lahti to discuss important and serious issues.

The preventive work event Järkee oder nein? is again organised for eighth-graders at Lahti’s main library. The topics of the event will be selected from current phenomena that affect the lives of secondary school children.

This year’s themes are mental wellbeing, bullying and cyber-bullying, violence and managing emotions through substance abuse. These themes have been discussed at various meetings of youth well-being networks over the past year.

The event will include a series of tick boxes to stimulate debate on each topic. There are 35 classes from Lahti’s primary schools.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event, which has been held online for two years, will be held at the Lahti Main Library from Monday to Friday, 21-25. November.

The city of Lahti’s youth services, student welfare services, library services, Lahti first aid and shelter, Lahti parishes, Walkers Lahti and an experience specialist are responsible for the implementation.

Guardians can get to know the topics discussed through video material. The material can be found at the end of November on the website of youth services.
