RH Entertainments’ bankruptcy announcement coincided with the festive tour of The Manhattan Transfer. The band will take to the stage in Tampere as scheduled, but other performances are still in doubt.

The vocal group of the famous singing group The Manhattan Transfer sits in the conference room of Tampere Hall on Saturday evening. According to the tour schedule, they were supposed to be in town a couple of days later, but Friday’s bankruptcy notice from promoter RH Entertainments changed the plans.

The band heard the surprising news while preparing to perform in Oulu.

In addition to the Oulu concert, the Kuopio gig was cancelled, so the quartet travelled directly to Tampere. Here, Monday’s concert has not been cancelled, as Tampere House, in addition to its role as a concert hall rental company, also acts as a promoter and was able to arrange the concert with the administrator.

The change in plans also meant a surprising amount of work for the people of Tampere-talo.

The Manhattan Transfer is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the current tour. Over the decades there have been canceled performances, but this time the reason was exceptional.

The band itself has no more information about the remaining performances of the tour than the audience. Waiting for the gigs to be confirmed, there is some downtime in Tampere.
