– Now that schools are starting, contacts will increase and it is likely that the number of corona infections will also increase, Nieminen states.

The current instruction is that a student infected with the corona virus stays at home for at least five days. The sick person should be relatively symptom-free two days before returning to school. Infection can be detected with a home test if even mild symptoms appear.

According to the review published on Tuesday, 28 patients with corona are being treated at Päijät-Häme Central Hospital. Some are in treatment precisely because of the corona disease, while some are in the hospital for other reasons and they also have a corona infection. There are no corona patients in intensive care.

The king of the forest lures tourists to the safari bus in the middle of nowhere – few Finns understand how coveted the moose is

A Lapland safari company has made moose hunting a profitable business. Many tourists want to meet Europe’s largest land mammal, but only a few organize tours.

Five young Dutch men stare impassively out of the window of a moving minibus in the middle of the dark Tervola forest. The group has paid hundreds of euros for a late-night excursion to see the king of the Finnish forest, the moose.

But the moose lets himself wait. No one can know for sure where a wild forest animal is hiding right now. Still, the driver is sure that moose will be seen. Tourists have been given a guarantee.

The red minibus travels along Kätkävaara’s forest roads and kinttupaths. We didn’t set off until a little before nine in the evening, because the August dusk is the best time to see hornbills.

You don’t go into the forest on foot, but you move all the time in a car, the sound of which is neutral for elk.

Central Europeans like moose: \”An impressive sight\”

The tourism company Lapland Welcome has been organizing elk bonga safaris for 25 years and most of the locals still don’t know about the service. The safaris are aimed at tourists who want to see Europe’s largest land-dwelling mammal.

In Tervolala, the operation has been profitable: from May to September, tourists flock to the forests almost every day. During the summer, approximately 600 customers have time to visit.

Eight men are standing in front of the red minibus. The young men have binoculars in their hands. One of the men wearing a green safari guide vest speaks to the young men with his hands raised in the air.
An essential part of the safari is to share information about Finland’s nature and its animals. Here we stopped to examine the vesakos eaten by the moose.

Make a paradise for the furry ones: Here are 8,101 pollinator plants that are also a joy for humans

Make a paradise for the furry ones: Here are 8,101 pollinator plants that are also a joy for humans

The picture shows drawings of flowers.

Pollinating insects need water and pollen for food. When you grow pollinator-friendly flowers in your yard, you also ensure a bountiful harvest of fruit trees and berry bushes.

The most important thing when planning balcony or yard plantings is to choose flowers so that there is enough food for the fluffy ones from early spring until autumn. This way, people also have enough eye candy for the whole summer.

Although most flowers attract pollinators, not all flowers are created equal. Highly cultivated flowers with many layers of petals may not produce any nectar at all.

In plantings, it is good to prefer simple flowers, preferably those that can also be found naturally in Finland. Such flowers are much better able to withstand the changing summer heat and are therefore easy to take care of.

At the nursery, you have to be careful that no pesticides have been used to grow the seedlings, because they are also dangerous for pollinators. If possible, prefer seedlings grown in your home country.
