The city of Seinäjoki bought art for the new quarter of the station area

The city council decided to commission five public works of art in the first construction phase of the new station area.

Asemanseutu’s art venues are different from each other.

Moisander’s facade work *Station Platform 0* deals with the meanings of Seinäjoki and the railway. Kärkkäinen’s work *Synnyinkivi* is spread on the street stone of the outdoor space at the main entrance of the family service center Aalloko. Männikö’s work *Rönsy* is located in the entrance hall of Aalloko. Raitanen’s *Waiter and* *Arrivals* will enter the courtyard of the station block.

Korhonen’s work proposal is called *Rabbit hole and world wheel*.

Last fall, the city organized an open portfolio search for the art of the station block and the parking garage, on the basis of which the authors were selected.

Seinäjoki city council decided on Monday 7.11. at the meeting, the cost estimate for the works of art was 335,000 euros. The share of art fees collected from the builders is 162,000 euros, and the remaining 173,000 euros is paid from the city’s art budget.
