Popeda will end his career in the fall of next year.

According to Mustajärvi, when you do things long enough, they will inevitably become routine at some point.

– Also these rock band things. Then you won’t be able to do the same as in the early days of the band.

Only 1.5 years break behind

Pate Mustajärvi remembers that he is 67 years old and that he has been on the road for 45 years.

– In all that time, Popeda has taken only one break of 1.5 years. It’s time to think about what you want to do when you grow up.

Popeda’s rock hits such as Kuuma kesa, Sersantti Karoliina, Matkalla Alabamaa, Skuset, Punaia ja meleaa, Kellot lyö, Repe ja Lissu, I live for myself, Lihaa i peruna, will be heard on Ratina.

Popeda has brought more to Mustajärvi than he ever dared to dream.

– I am proud of these kilometers and grateful to everyone with whom I have been able to travel this way. However, at this point in life and career, you have to take a breath, dare to walk off the stage before someone catches you. What happens in the future remains to be seen. And if something happens, you will hear about it.

The composition has received the Suomi Award (2014), the Eläköön SuomiRock lifetime achievement award (2017) and the Special Emma (2018). In addition, Pate Mustajärvi has been awarded at Iskelmä-Finlandia (2015). Two books have been published about Popeda, and a total of three books about Pate Mustajärvi’s career and life.
