In parish elections, members are elected to the church council and parish councils for a four-year term starting in January.
Early voting for the parish elections starts today.
You can vote in advance in many parish halls, churches and also in shops. A list of early voting locations can be found, for example, on the Lahti parish association’s website. Early voting continues until Saturday evening, November 12.
There are a total of 167 candidates in the Lahti parish association. Most of them aspire to both the joint church council of Lahti parishes and the council of their own parish. In Lahti, six voter associations have nominated candidates.
There are 51 seats in the church council and 14–16 in the parish councils.
The actual voting day is November 20. Four years ago in Lahti, the voting percentage in the parish elections was 9.3.
