We want to give up the waste transport organized by the property owner. The City Council demands an explanation of how Salpakierto Oy plans to implement a centralized system.
Lahti city government considers that the current waste transport organized by the property owner does not meet the requirements of the section of the Waste Act.
For example, there are several service providers in the area, but residents are not in an equal position as waste fees vary within the municipality.
The city council ended its statement on Monday with a vote of 8-2. It also requires that the waste management authority, Salpakierto Oy, Transport companies and the waste board consider how to achieve a system and tendering that benefits people.
In addition, Salpakierro needs to find out how the group company intends to implement a centralized transport system in a cost-cutting, business-friendly and customer-oriented manner.
