Photo by Antti Strang Threat from the depths.
Antti Strang managed to photograph the day fly just before the fish attacked.

An exciting photo of a daylily and a fish preying on it from the depths was selected as the best nature photo of 2022.

– I was photographing one roach, when a roach came out of the water to grab it. I got this one accurate picture of the quick situation. Later, when I looked at the picture on the computer screen, I knew that this had potential, Strang says about the picture taking situation in the news release.

-titled picture also convinced the jury of the Nature Picture of the Year 2022 competition. It was awarded on Saturday evening at the Nature Picture of the Year festival at the nature center Haltia in Espoo.

According to the jury, the winning photo is a great and surprising snapshot, the merits of which are not necessarily obvious at first glance.

\”It’s a perfectly captured situation. The dark water and the shiny wings of the shark create depth in the picture. The figure of the fish creates an exciting and perhaps even tormenting atmosphere\ the jury justifies its choice. tuomaristo perustelee valintaansa.
