According to the jury, Rapp could not prove that Spacey had touched Rapp’s sexual or intimate body parts. The jury found Spacey not liable in the case.

Spacey was one of the first to be accused of sexual harassment and abuse in the wake of the metoo movement. The two-time Oscar winner’s legal concerns have not been limited to the Rapp lawsuit.

In 2019, Spacey was acquitted of sexual assault charges in Massachusetts, USA. He has also denied allegations that he abused three men in the UK.

Spacey disappears from screens amid allegations

Spacey has hardly been seen in roles since Rapp’s accusations came out in 2017. At that time, Spacey said publicly for the first time that he was gay. According to the actor, he was accused of trying to divert attention away from the accusations.

Spacey took the witness stand in New York, where he described his family background as problematic. He painted a picture of his father as a supporter of white supremacy and a neo-Nazi who hated homosexuals and did not appreciate his son’s interest in theater.

Spacey said he issued a public apology for Rapp’s allegations at the urging of his advisers, but said he now regrets it.
