The Aleksis Kivi Society awards the prize to a person who has demonstrated the characteristics of Esko Nummisuutar.

Puolanka Pessimists’ artistic director Tommi Rajala’s world-view and eschomaic principled action as the voice of pessimism in Kainuu provides a unique role model for local history work and municipal marketing.

– Tommi Rajala and the pessimists of Puolanka do not indulge in consultative talk, but readily admit that the swamp is here, the sludge is there and the piss is not dry,” the Aleksis Kivi Society’s Board of Directors sums up their choice.

The prizes will be presented to the winners on Aleksis Kivi Day on 10.10. at a private event in Nurmijärvi Library.
