The majority of tourists who have stayed overnight in Kanta-Hämee are Finns

There were more tourists staying overnight in Kanta-Hämee this summer than a year ago.

The number of overnight stays increased by more than 1,200 days from last year. 101,193 tourists stayed in Kanta-Hämee this summer. Of them, 95,390 were Finnish and 5,803 were foreign tourists.

Last summer, a total of 99,932 tourists stayed overnight in the province, of which 97,006 were domestic overnight stayers. There were only 2,926 overnight stayers from abroad.

The top 5 foreign tourists staying in Kanta-Hämee this summer were Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, the United States and Poland. A year ago, due to the corona pandemic, fewer foreigners traveled to Finland than usual. According to Statistics Finland, the top five tourist countries were Germany, Sweden, Estonia, Norway and Denmark.
