A criminal complaint has been filed against Ville Ranta. The drawings attached to the criminal complaint deal with, among other things, the Islamic government of Iran and the stabbing of writer Salman Rushdie.
Helsingin Sanomat was the first to report on the matter.
Ranta himself says that he is surprised by this. However, he thinks that no charges will be brought, because according to him, the grounds of the announcement do not match the contents and contexts of the drawings.
– Cartoons are basically not incitement against a group of people, but social discussion. I think it’s trolling.
Ranta is not aware of who made the report. He considers it likely that when he goes to give a statement about the drawings, the matter will not go forward.
