Yle readers sent pictures of the partial lunar eclipse that took place between Saturday and Sunday night.
The partial eclipse started on Saturday evening at 22:35. The eclipse was at its deepest at 11:14 p.m., when about 6 percent of the moon’s surface was covered by the earth’s full shadow. The eclipse ended completely on Sunday morning at 1:26 am.
According to the astronomical association Ursa, next year there will be only one meager lunar eclipse in the morning before the total lunar eclipse in September 2025.
