The autumn holidays of the people of northern Pohja begin. Considerable numbers of vacationers are expected in Ruka.

The autumn holidays have attracted many vacationers to the slopes of Ruka.

There are currently four skiing slopes open in the ski center. A cross-country ski trail built with preserved snow has also been opened in Ruka.

The autumn holidays continue next week, when vacationers from the North Ostrobothnia region, among others, can go on vacation.

– When I was here a year ago, nature was still completely brown and it was even a little scary to go down on the slopes. Now there is snow everywhere, which is absolutely amazing, Raatikainen rejoiced.

Matti Parviainen expects next week’s continuous fall holiday week to also be lively.

– In addition to vacationers from the nearby area, training groups are starting to flow to Ruka little by little. We are particularly pleased that after a few years of quiet life, holiday and training groups also arrive here from Sweden, says Parviainen.
