Burt Young, known from the Rocky movies, has died – he became an artist in his old age

Actor Burt Young died in Los Angeles at the age of 83.

Young studied acting at the prestigious Actors Studio in his hometown of New York.

Before his acting career, Young served in the United States Marine Corps in the late 1950s.

The role earned Young an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and he was featured in all the sequels to the original film.

Sylvester Stallone, who made his international breakthrough with the movie Rocky, remembered his colleague on Instagram.

In his old days, Young became a full-time visual artist, and his work has been exhibited around the world.

Young’s death was reported by, among others, the British newspaper The Guardian.
