The Mytäjäinen junction is a key traffic hub in Lahti. The picture taken on 13 October shows how the lane has been opened for those heading towards Hennala, but there is still a detour for those coming from Hennala.

The junction has been subject to exceptional traffic arrangements since the summer due to the renovation of the underpass.

The busy Mytäjäinen junction, the intersection of Helsingintien and Mannerheiminkatu, will soon return to normal traffic in Lahti. The city has completely renovated the Mytäjäisten underpass.

The lanes across the underpass had to be closed, and it has been impossible to drive from the city centre to Hennala along Helsinginkatu. Now one lane has been reopened in the southbound direction. The whole project should be completed by the end of this month.

Originally, the city intended to make it possible to use one or the other lane during the rehabilitation work. However, the pontoon wall needed as a support structure did not sink deep enough into the ground to allow for safe excavation.
