Cracks were discovered in the statue of the night band’s front façade during the summer. The wooden statue, which was erected last autumn, will be covered by a canopy in October.
– Fortunately, there have been no major cracks. We will get Olli fixed, Haglund said.
– The materials were ordered last week and will be delivered this week or next week,” says Myllymäki.
Canopy price doubled
From the very beginning, the frame material of the canopy was chosen to be a truss, a familiar scaffolding structure from performance technology, to which performance technology such as lighting and speakers are attached on the stages.
– The canopy will be like a concert stage, not terribly big, about two and a half by three meters, Myllymäki says.
According to Puuhamie, financing was easily arranged from various companies and private individuals, even though the price of the shelter doubled along the way.
– We wanted to build a stage from used trusses, but we couldn’t find them in Finland. New panties are the biggest expense item.
Myllymäki says that the cracks in the tree will be repaired next summer. The artist Haglund assured already in the summer that the cracks may not even be noticed when they have been filled and painted again.
– Those cracks are not bad. People need to understand that it is made of wood and the wood now cracks when it dries, says Myllymäki.
