The Lovers Theatre has received a two-year grant from the Cultural Fund for a new festival.
Rakastajat Theatre will organise a new street theatre festival in Pori for the next two summers.
The festival programme includes international and domestic street theatre performances, workshops for children and young people, and evening clubs.
The festival is organised in partnership with the Irish Street Art and Spectacles Network, the Winchester Hat Fair in the UK and the Tadaa Festival in Estonia, among others. International street theatre artists from Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Australia and other countries will come to Pori.
The festival has received a two-year Art² grant from the Finnish Cultural Fund.
For 23 years, the Rakstatajat theater organized the Lainsuojattomat theater festival of independent professional theaters in Pori, until the theater became part of the state in 2023. With that, Lainsuojattomat moved to Iisalmi.
