The NoPoFo series from the Tampere-based production company, which started in early September, makes fun of the highly popular Nordic noir. The series will also be filmed in Tampere.
Hynninen says that the company’s team has been writing the series with the Americans for ten months.
– Zucker and Croft are two of the world’s most successful comedy writers, known, among other things, for their films – in other words, for everything I watched as a young man.

Silly situations, seriously acted out
According to Hynninen, the men approached him with the idea of \u200b\u200ba series in which the entire genre is gently laughed at.
– I thought it was an uncontrollably funny idea to make a man and a naked gun-type spoof of Nordic noir. Spoof is a type of comedy that is not a complete parody, but the situations are just over-tuned. The situations are crazy, but the Actors do it seriously.
Nordic Noir refers to dark and morally complex crime mysteries that are solved in books or TV series. For example, the Sorjonen series is considered the Finnish representative of the genre.
Now looking for a subscriber to the series
The screenplay consists of ten half-hour episodes, each of which is its own story. The series follows NoPoFo, a fictional police special unit that solves the genre’s astonishingly gruesome, bloody and complex murders.
The seal of quality is also at BBC Studios Nordic, which has been brought in as a production partner.
The next step is to find a subscriber. When one is found, the series is also planned to be filmed in Tampere.
