The number of applicants to the LAB University of Applied Sciences doubled compared to a year ago. In the autumn joint call for applications, which ended on Wednesday 14 September, 23 660 applications were received, of which 5 965 were preferred applicants.

The two English-language courses in business studies were particularly popular, with 14 430 applicants, compared to 764 a year earlier. The most popular Finnish-language subject was the online degree in social work, which received 1 100 applications.

The popularity of applying to English-language schools was partly explained by the fact that this time the selection test can be taken online instead of physically being there.

In general, educations in the social and health sector, as well as online or completely online MA studies were among the most popular applications.

The selection results of the joint application will be announced to the applicants no later than November 25. Studies start in January 2023.
