In addition to architectural quality, the competition also takes into account ecology and comfort. The winner will be announced next spring.
An architectural competition is launched for the Ranta-Kartano block in Lahti. The aim of the competition is to increase the vibrancy of the city centre and make the area more pleasant to live in, in line with the city’s strategy.
The competition area is the block facing Kyösti Kallio Street, south of the pump track. According to the city, the construction of the block must be predominantly self-financed.
Urban environment experts evaluate the competition ideas and propose the winner to the Urban Environment Committee. The judging will pay particular attention to high quality architecture, comfort, ecology and energy generation solutions.
The competition starts when the urban environment board has approved the competition program and the start of the competition has been announced in Uusi Lahti magazine. The final result and the winner will be decided by the end of April 2023.
