The passenger steamship Kouda had a record number of cruisers this summer – with a particular increase in the number of companies and groups

Finland’s northernmost passenger steamship Kouta set a record for passenger numbers in the past cruise season. A total of 3095 passengers took part in 100 cruises, of which 1877 on the July general cruises.

The number of passengers on general cruises remained at the same level as in previous years, but after two years of interest rates, this summer saw a significant increase in charter cruises for companies and groups.

The Kouta cruise season started in May and ended this season in September. The most popular cruise destination was still Ärjänsaari. During the summer, the over 100-year-old steamship also visited Paltamo Melalahti, Manamansalo, Vaala and Kuostonsaari.

On the last weekend of August, the Venetians were celebrated in Kalkkisilla, Kouda’s home port.
