Tanskanen’s comic art deals with inequality, body image, pressure to look good, sexuality, racism and sexism. Tanskanen highlights the world in which girls live and what they experience.
The Ministry of Education and Culture awards the annual State Prizes for Information Disclosure on the proposal of the Advisory Board for Information Disclosure. Riina Tanskanen is the youngest woman in history to receive the State Prize for Information Publishing. She was born in 1998.
This year there will be nine awards. State awards for information disclosure have been awarded since 1968.
The awards are given for significant information publication work done in the field of scientific, artistic and technological communication, which has increased citizens’ knowledge and stimulated social debate.
The _Stupid Girls_ comic book published in 2021 will be continued in 2024.
