The survey aims to create an overall picture of food aid in Lahti.
The Lahti Social Welfare Institution, the city and the congregation will prepare a report on the provision of food aid. Several organisations are currently organising food distribution and community meals in Lahti.
However, according to a press release from the Deaconry Department responsible for the study, the city does not have a clear overview of which all agencies provide food aid and where people can get centralised information about food aid.
The aim for the coming years is a more extensive development project that would clarify the food aid activities in the Lahti region, for example by compiling up-to-date information on a single website.
