OH’s athletes also won silver.
OH’s first team, Jenny Rautionaho and Timi Heiskanen, won the gold medal in the ski jumping mixed team competition at the summer WC in Lahti. Rautionaho made an effort of 84.5 and 79 meters in the competition. Heiskanen stretched 88 and 86 meters.
According to Jenny Rautionaho, the conditions were difficult for the jumpers, but the Rovaniemi was pleased with the mixed team competition, which was contested for the first time in the general series at the SM level.
– In the World Cup, four-person teams have jumped into a mixed team competition. It’s nice that there will be different competition formats in Finland as well, says Jenny Rautionaho in a press release from the Finnish Ski Federation.
Timi Heiskanen also complained about the difficult conditions, and was not completely satisfied with his jumps, even though he won the championship.
– It was a difficult day. The jump went really well at the beginning of the week when we were training in Rovaniemi, but today it didn’t go well, Heiskanen said in the press release.
OH’s second team, sisters Annika Malacinski and Niklas Malacinski won silver in the mixed team competition. Emilia Vidgren and Arttu Pohjola of the Lahti Ski Association finished third.
