The second biggest audience score ever and a rise to Spotify’s most listened to songs – This is how Wrapper Cha Cha Cha made history

Journalist Antti Kurra highlights facts about the Eurovision Song Contest final and Käärijä’s historic success.

Finland came a historic second in the Eurovision Song Contest. Käärijä was the overwhelming crowd favourite and received full audience points from as many as eighteen countries.

The 376 points collected by the wrap is the second highest overall score in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. Only Ukraine scored more points a year ago than Finland does now.

At the same time, the overall score of the Carpenter is the biggest pot that did not win the competition.

The second place is, however, Finland’s second best ranking in Eurovision ever. In addition, Cha Cha Cha is the best-ranked Finnish song in Viusu’s history. The song has even reached the top of the list of the world’s most listened songs of the day on Spotify. On Monday, Cha Cha Cha was seventh on the list.

Sweden’s Loreen, who won Viusut, got the fourth most points ever. A large part of the points pot was from international races.

Since 2016, when the town hall and audience points have been given separately, only Portugal has received more town hall points than Loreen in 2017.
