According to the majority of the council, the new policy will make the city’s operation smoother.
The council of Lahti has decided to change the council question practice. Previously, one councilor could ask a council question, now 14 councilors are required to ask a question.
A council question differs from a council initiative in that you get an answer faster than an initiative.
At its meeting on Monday, September 5, the council discussed whether the change narrows the influence possibilities of an individual councilor and how the councilors could get better information from the office holders.
The majority of the council was of the opinion that the issue of 14 councilors will make the city’s operations smoother.
