The tourist summer was lively in Päijät-Hämee – there were clearly more overnight stays in July than a year earlier

In Päijät-Hämee, the number of accommodation days increased compared to last year.

Päijät-Häme’s accommodation establishments recorded significantly more overnight stays in July than the previous summer.

There were more than 94,200 paid overnight stays, which means an increase of 7.8 percent compared to the previous year.

In the city of Lahti, the increase in accommodation days was significant.

According to the statistical service Visitory’s accommodation statistics, 30,300 overnight stays were recorded, of which 25,800 were domestic tourists.

While the number of overnight stays in Päijät-Hämee increased, the corresponding number in the whole of Finland decreased by 3.4 percent compared to the previous year.
