Lahti Events left with EUR 4.6 million in receivables from Kymi Ring

Kymi Ring oy, which built a motor sports centre in Kausala, Iiti, on the border with Kouvola, announced on Thursday last week that it would file for bankruptcy on its own initiative.

The total amount has not been previously disclosed. Kymi Ring oy, which was aiming to hold MotoGP races in Iitti, filed for bankruptcy before Easter.

Lahti Events, the event company of the City of Lahti, suffers losses totalling EUR 4.6 million from Kymi Ring.

In addition to the EUR 2 million advance rent, Lahti Events is owed EUR 2.6 million, an amount that has not been disclosed previously because Kymi Ring and Lahti Events have disagreed on both the amount and the basis of the claim. The amount will now be disclosed in the annexes to the bankruptcy petition.

The City of Lahti has decided to discontinue Lahti Events in its current form.
