Helsinki’s main train station was bustling in the afternoon, as domestic travelers headed off to celebrate Easter.
Easter traffic has been at its busiest today on Maundy Thursday.
There were plenty of people with suitcases, trunks and small backpacks at Helsinki’s main railway station.
Fintraffic’s road traffic center estimates that the traffic will slowly start to calm down after about an hour at 19:00. Outbound traffic is mainly northbound.
– I’m going to Kilpisjärvi, says Sorri.
Sorri’s trip first goes to Tampere, from where he leaves tomorrow for a hiking trip in the north. The planned trip takes eight days.
According to VR, train trips have been booked more busily this Easter than last year. Night train parking spaces to the north have been sold out for the Easter period.
