The Natural Heritage Foundation has bought a forest reserve in Juua

The foundation already has ten protected areas in North Karelia. The Juua new area foundation acquired it thanks to a single large donation.

The Natural Heritage Foundation has acquired a new forest protection area in North Karelia. The foundation has purchased a 57-hectare forest area in Juua as a conservation area.

The area is located in Polvivaara, west of Pielinen. In addition to old forests, there are, among other things, rocky hills, quarries and various swamps. There is approximately 1.2 kilometers of coastline in the area.

The Natural Heritage Foundation is now investing in Eastern Finland, as it has received offers from the region for several forest areas.

The Natural Heritage Foundation already has ten protected areas in North Karelia, four of which are located in Juua.
