FC Lahti kicks off the league season in Vaasa: \”There will be a lot of duels\”

Snow work was done at the Lahti stadium on Tuesday. FC Lahti’s first home match is marked in the match schedule on April 29 on the grass of that stadium.

Head coach Mikko Mannila wants the young team to play fast and modern football.

The men’s soccer league season starts on Wednesday.

FC Lahti, who kept their place through the qualifiers last season, will play their first three matches away from home.

The natural grass of our home stadium, i.e. the ski stadium, is currently being worked out from under the snow to get it ready for the first home match at the end of April.

FC Lahti will face Vaasa Palloseura on Wednesday.

– Vaasa is a very physical team. There will be a lot of duels. We are not going to play according to the precautionary principle either.

Goals come from work

FC Lahti’s head coach Mikko Mannila does not directly answer what positions the Lahti people are aiming for this season.

However, Mannila is nailing the minimum goal, which means that there must be an improvement from last season, when the team failed to qualify for the league.

– The top of the league is quite sharp and there will be HJK, Honka and so on. After the tip there are really even clubs. We have broken down our goals into smaller parts and thought about what kind of work culture is required from us to achieve them.

The team’s player budget is at the bottom of the league, i.e. 600,000 euros.
