Asikkala’s taxi killer to undergo a mental state examination – the accused confesses that he caused the victim’s death

The district court of Päijät-Häme has issued an interim judgment in the Asikkala taxi death case

The man accused of killing a taxi driver in Asikkala’s Salonsaari last August has been ordered to undergo a mental health examination.

The accused has admitted that he caused the victim’s death, but denied the act was intentional.

The accused has also admitted that he had sex with the victim. According to him, the actions were voluntary.

The district court of Päijät-Häme has given an interim verdict in the case of murder and aggravated rape.

The victim’s death is considered to have been caused by strangulation, and according to the court, it has been shown in the case that the accused has forced the victim to have sex using violence.

In the court’s opinion, the crime was committed in a particularly cruel way.

The Päijät-Häme district court evaluates after the mental state examination is completed which crimes the accused’s conduct fulfills.
