For the first time, gender-neutral acting awards were given at the Jussi gala. The award for the best lead actor went to Sara Melleri and Ilkka Heiskanen for the supporting actor.

*–* Directing this film was a bit like an intoxicating tightrope walk where you felt like you were in a bit of danger all the time, director Haapasalo said in his award speech.

Special award for the Evil Incubator
The *Pahanhautaja* movie also collected several Juss. It was also awarded a Nordisk Film special award.
The Nordisk Film Foundation’s award is given to filmmakers who, with their significant work, have raised the level of cinema and thus enriched Finnish film culture.
The value of the Nordisk Film prize is 20,000 euros.
– The cinematographer of the film has excellent technical skills and, above all, the sensitivity to create an unprecedented and complete world. The film’s producer has shown exceptional tenacity and professionalism by building a solid financing network and production entity for the debut film. The film’s screenwriter is simultaneously unrestrained and restrained, the award criteria say.
– And all of the above is held together by the film’s prism, its director, by making an artistically uncompromising film whose international reputation is well-deserved. He boldly takes the genre to a new level, the arguments continue.
