Lahti and Heinola are interested in hosting the Ice Hockey World Championships

Finland–Sweden, U18 World Championship.
Finland’s under-18 team won bronze at the 2022 World Cup.

An application for the 2024 Games is in preparation. The Under-18 Games have previously been held three times in Finland.

Lahti and Heinola are interested in hosting the Under-18 Ice Hockey World Championships in 2024.

The cities are preparing a joint application. Lahti’s vitality and employment section decided on the matter yesterday. The city of Lahti could contribute up to €100 000 towards hall and other costs.

The Under-18 World Championships have been held three times in Finland. In 2001, Lahti organised the games together with Heinola and Helsinki.
