The order, worth almost EUR 50 million, will employ workers in Lahti and Kajaani.

Wood technology company Raute has won a major order in Uruguay.

The Lahti-based company will supply technology to Lumin’s new plywood factory for around €50 million. Lumin will build the plant in Melo, Uruguay.

The new factory will make Lumin the second largest plywood producer in South America. The new plant will enable the company to produce around half a million cubic metres of plywood.

Raute supplies the factory with, among other things, a log processing line, a veneer turning line, two veneer drying lines, as well as sealing lines and plywood pressing lines.

The order brings work to Lahti and Kajaani, where the machines and equipment to be delivered to Uruguay are manufactured. Device deliveries will start in February next year and continue until the summer of 2025.
