The LystiKylä multi-arts festival features concerts, theatre, dance and art workshops.
Jyväskylä will get a new family multi-arts festival next summer. The three-day LystiKylä festival, which will take place for the first time from 9 to 11 June, is aimed especially at families with children.
The event includes concerts, theatre, dance and art workshops. Performers include the children’s music orchestra Loiskis, the orchestra of Little Poppy, and Maltti and Valtti from Little Two.
The festival is produced by the City of Jyväskylä Cultural Services together with a wide network of partners. Venues include the Jyväskylä City Library, Villa Rana House of Culture, Veturitallit, the City Theatre, museums and shopping centres in the city centre, Mäki-Mati Family Park and Lounaispuisto.
The main theme of the event is animals, which is reflected in the program. There are characters from the Bulldog to the residents of the bug hotel. The program is designed for children aged 0-12 and their families.
The event has both free and paid programs.
The LystiKylä festival also celebrates regional children’s cultural cooperation. Kulttuuriaitta is a children’s culture network of ten central Finnish municipalities, which turns 20 this year.
