In Kuopio’s Tahko, a major hotel renovation will begin this spring. Osuuskauppa Peeäs will renew its hotel during this and next year. The renovation will be completed at the end of 2024.
Osuuskauppa Peeässä is doing a big hotel renovation in Kuopio’s Tahko. Peeässa is renovating its hotel in the heart of Tahko with 17 million euros.
During the spring and early summer, the restaurant facilities of the hotel property will be renovated. Due to the renovation, the hotel is closed from mid-April until Midsummer.
The hotel’s restaurant area is turned into a living room-like environment and nature is made part of the hotel’s story. In April, the renovation of the hotel’s main building’s rooms and meeting rooms will also begin.
They will be completed by the end of next August. Demolition of the other side of the hotel and work on the new building will begin in October.
The hotel currently has 120 rooms and the new part will have more than 50 rooms. According to the plans, the entire hotel renovation will be completed at the end of 2024.
The hotel renovation in Peeässä is part of the development of the Tahko tourism center. The goal is to make Tahko the most attractive and versatile year-round leisure travel destination in Finland. There are also plans to increase the number of foreign tourists fivefold by 2030.
