This year, the podium of the Salpausselkä Centenary Games will see the brilliance of crystals.

Competitions are exceptionally held at the end of March. The competition weekend in Lahti is also the World Cup final for cross-country, combined and women’s ski jumping.

The overall winner of each category will receive a lead crystal trophy and the top three will receive crystal medals. The final of the Men’s Lumpy World Cup will be held later in Planica.

The crystals, traditionally handed out at the World Cup finals, will now be distributed at Salpauselka for the first time.

The trophies are made in Germany and are blown into a ball shape. Snow crystals are shaped on the surface of the trophies and the FIS logo is engraved along with the competition sport, among other things.

The large trophy awarded to the winner of the team competition is almost half a meter high and weighs about seven and a half kilograms. The trophy for the individual sports has a weight of just over three kilograms and a height of twenty centimeters.

The prizes are displayed to the public in advance in the shopping center Trio in a festive showcase at the Salppuri100 event in Lahti.
