Those invited to the study receive extensive information about their health. According to the doctor in charge of the study, it is important that all those invited participate in the study.
During this winter and spring, 10,000 Finns will receive a free health examination. Health checks are organized in 50 locations. In Häme, the towns are Forssa, Lahti, Heinola, Hämeenlinna and Riihimäki.
In Häme, about 500 people have been invited for health checks.
Along with the health checks, there is also a survey for which 66,000 Finns were randomly selected. Through the selected persons, a miniature picture of the population of Finland is formed.
\”This kind of information cannot be bought with money\”
During a health check-up, you get unique information about your own health. Among other things, the inspection examines the person’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease ten years from now.
– You can’t really buy this kind of information with money. From the individual’s point of view, it is great that he has been selected for this study, Lehtoranta reminds.
The health check-up is free of charge for those invited. Normally, you would have to pay hundreds of euros for such an extensive inspection.
In the audio, the doctor responsible for Terve Suomen, Lara Lehtoranta, explains more about the study and health checks.
