Such is Finland’s Eurovision representative Käärijä and his unruly Cha Cha Cha song, which can even win the entire Eurovision Song Contest

Finland will perform in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, England on May 9.

It has been played in nightclubs all over Finland and it has also been the boisterous anthem of after-ski parties in ski resorts. The song has also gathered foreign interest before UMK’s victory was decided.

Pre-favorite Käärijä took the prize in the exceptionally tough UMK final.

*Cha Cha cha* is a mix of no-nonsense partying, heavier music and catchy pop. It is equally difficult to place its performer in a specific compartment.

– No one was even interested in the end games. Suddenly, we are early favorites.

Käärijä’s music career started as a teenager, when he became interested in rap music. When he was younger, he had played the drums. He decided to try writing words. He brought his current producer Nurme with him.

There was a liberated joy in the performance of Käärijä, or Jere Pöyhönen, which carried all the way to victory.

The songs were initially made \”on the fly\” and for the pleasure of a group of friends. Ten years later, he decided to start making music seriously. The debut single *Urheilujätkä* was released in 2016.

Now Käärijä and *Cha Cha cha* is one of the biggest early favorites for the spring Eurovision Song Contest in the eyes of major bookmakers.
