Poronkusema can be seen and heard in Rovaniemi – more than a thousand students from all over the country will participate in the traditional tic-tac-toe race this weekend

The two-day student event Poronkusema kicked off on Friday with a thief’s departure and playing beer pong.

The Poronkusema student event will take place in Rovaniemi after a couple of years of corona break. The event can be seen and heard all over the city this weekend, but the stealth start to the race was already taken on Friday.

In Poronkusema, no fewer than 400 teams go around the city on cross-country skis. The content of about twenty ticks has not been announced in advance, but there is a small idea of \u200b\u200btheir content.

More than a thousand university and polytechnic students from all over Finland have gathered in Rovaniemi for the weekend. The student event is organized for the 30th time already, but it was missed due to the corona virus in the two previous years.

– Yes, there is something to look forward to and a great feeling when such a big event is organized. The most important thing is to throw yourself and complete the checks. I hope that here you will also be able to meet as many students from other fields of study as possible, Valikainen characterizes.

– The most pleasant thing is the sense of community and everyone throwing themselves together. It’s great to see students from all over Finland and meet them.

The thief’s departure for the event was already taken on Friday

The Poronkusema event has started on Friday at Rovaniemi’s Lordinaukio with a thief start. The main day is Saturday, when students go around the city in teams of 3–6 people, performing various tasks.

Rasti is organized in cooperation with local restaurants and other student organizations. The event is organized by the law students’ subject organization of the University of Lapland.

Elias Valikainen assures that after the weekend’s competition, we will be working on our studies at full strength.

– I’m sure you’ll feel good and refreshed after the student weekend. I believe that a lot of new experiences will also be absorbed.
