The celebratory poster and logo of the Salpausselkä Games, which is celebrating its anniversary year, are inspired by the hundred-year history of competition posters.

According to Aalto, the poster wanted to have happy colors and a bit of a carnival atmosphere.

A blonde woman with a ponytail (Ruusa Aalto, communication manager of the Salpausselä Games) stands and looks at the poster on the wall. The party poster for the Salpausselkä Games depicts blue-red-yellow figures skiing forward towards three structures resembling ski jumping hills.
Communications Manager Ruusa Aalto says that the competition poster for the 100-year-old Salpausselkä Games was designed by the Lahti-based Mainostoimisto Oakhill, and it was designed by graphic artist Melissa Sahamie.

The color scheme is familiar from the World Cup posters. The often repeated blue-red-yellow combination can be seen as a spectrum of colors in the figures skiing on the party poster.

– The characters on the race poster can be seen not only as athletes, but also as people who the race weekend brings together volunteers and race guests. And we all get to enjoy the same scenery in Lahti anyway and go skiing on the ridges, Aalto states.
